This app has a list of 225 high frequency/sight words from the Dolch list. Students are given a word to spell and then must put the letters in the correct order to help the penguin get across the ice safely.

This interactive e-book/short film tells the story of a man who loves reading and devotes his life to books. Not only does this story have a great message, but the visuals are spectacular. This is my favorite e-book and I highly recommend it.

This is an adjustable timer that records audio while someone is reading. Set the timer, hit record, and then afterwards you can playback, save, and even e-mail the recording. Have your child read a short passage, book, or chapter, record themselves and listen to it. Then, encourage your child to re-read and record it again, but focus on using good expression, pay attention to the punctuation marks, and to read smoothly (like they are talking). See if they notice a difference between their two recordings.
